Lara Alsina Manrique de Lara (Madrid, 1976), a researcher at Fundación Sant Joan de Déu (FSJD) with experience in immunodeficiencies and innate immunity, has focused her career on the study of primary immunodeficiencies.
She has been coordinator of the Immunodeficiencies Group of the Catalan Pediatric society and currently co-edits the journal ‘Anales de Pediatría.’
PROJECT
Her project will analyze the effects of exposure to treatment with anti-TNF-a drugs (used in chronic inflammatory diseases) during pregnancy on the development of the immune system of neonates.
The results will allow a definition of the risk of infections, autoimmunity and/or allergy to which these babies are exposed, and create and disseminate specific protocols for action and monitoring.
